The Days of Noah Are Upon Us – What Demons CAN Do To Man

While writing this series about demons and how they are affecting the world we live in today, I have been getting a lot of great questions from people.

People need to understand that demons are real, they affect us most likely on daily and they are out to steal, kill, and destroy man.

Christians in particular need to understand what demons CAN do to believers but especially the non-believer.

Why the non-believer?  Because the demon has more power and can exercise more of its abilities over the non-believer vs. the believer.

SO why should you care?

How many of you have friends, loved ones, co-workers you like that are non-believers?

If you do have people in your life that are non-believers, odds are very good that they are being influenced by the demonic.

The only way one can truly protect themselves is to be born again and have the holy spirit in your life. If one does not, then there is “space” in their heart where the demonic can oppress or even possess.

Scripture says…

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

It is Satan who is the “god” of this world and he works hard to blind the non-believer and works to prevent them from seeing and having exposure to God, His Son and the saving grace of the Gospel.

Demons Use Sin & Disobedience To Keep Non-Believers Captive

It is demons that help Satan to keep the non-believer trapped in the chains of sin, disobedience, and rebellion to God. They do this by the means of promoting the weakness of the flesh, the sensual pleasures, materialism, hatred, pride pretty much everything that Satan stands for.

Just look at how Satan tempted Christ. He used the flesh against Christ. Satan used all those things, weakness of the flesh, sensuality, materialism, greed, pride, you name it and Satan used it.

Simply stated, demons entice man to continue to walk in sin, be prisoners in the fleshly desires and sinful ideas which are in total opposite of righteous behavior.  They help convince the non-believer to be in rebellion against God, just as he is.  Rebellion started in the garden with Adam and Eve and it is still a very powerful tool in the toolbox that demons possess.  Demons cause man to be so entrenched in his rebellion that even with the knowledge of the wrath of God does not detour the non-believer from his wicked ways.

This is why it is so important to share the gospel with your friends, family and other loved ones. The non-believer does not have the holy spirit within them, so they are literal prisoners of sin, which turns into rebellion, which causes the heart to harden more and more with each passing day to the point that the person loses the title of “non-believer” to that of “reprobate”.

Romans 1: 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Once a person is made a reprobate, there is no turning back for them. They are true enemies of God, eternally destined to Hell’s fires.

Demons Use The False Gospel, False Teachings, Worldly Philosophies and The Worldview To Entrap The Non-Believer

When one does not have the Holy Spirit in their hearts, the person is open to demonic influence, oppression and possession.  This is a fact and it is why being a non-believer is such a dangerous place to be.

One of the biggest influences demons have over man is the false and evil ideas they present to man.  Demons work hard to lie, cheat, steal, destroy. One of their most powerful tools is through the prevention of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, via the gospel.

How they do this is by distorting the gospel by adding to or taking away from the truth of the Word of God.

If we look back on how Christ battled Satan in the wilderness, Christ was victorious because he quoted God’s Truth, His Word back to Satan and thus Satan could not prevail. There is power in God’s Word and in the name of Jesus Christ. This is why Satan and his demons work so hard to distort the truth.

It is his oldest tactic in the bible and it is the exact way that he caused the fall in the garden with Eve and Adam.

Genesis  3 : 1-6

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

We see here where Satan is distorting God’s Word, thus causing Eve to doubt. Once that sliver of doubt has entered her mind, she then follows the steps to sin.

Sin always takes the same path.

One Sees…

One Desires…

One Takes….

One Partakes …

This is the same path to sin that all of us fall prey to when we are battling the flesh.

The demons use this very same tactic over and over again and this is the beginning of man’s entrapment to sin.

This is why it is so critical that we maintain and stand on God’s Absolute truth that is found in His Word.

For the Christian, if we doubt His Word at all, we open ourselves up to the demonic influences which then work to cause doubt, harden our hearts and then backslide against God.

But for the non-believer, it is much worse and they can literally be trapped by the false teachings of the world via demonic influence.

Once the non-believer starts down this path they open themselves up to all sorts of religions from pantheistic, primitive / pagan religions, even moving further into magic, witchcraft,  the arcane arts and eventually the worship of the demons themselves.

See this is part of the fall of Satan, he wants to be God, he wants to be worshipped and if a demon can achieve that, then the demon has reached his own pinnacle.

False religions spurred by demons also include the twisting of Scripture which leads to the many cults within Christendom.  It is the old adage “Hath God Said?”  The questioning of God’s Word and His Absolute Truth.

This is why it is so critical that we maintain a standard with God’s Word and why I still to this day stand solely on the King James Bible. It is this bible that has been through the wars, the trials, tribulations, the martyrdoms, the evil and scholarly scrutiny.

NONE of the modern versions can make that claim, therefore none of the modern versions can truly be trusted.

It is critical that we maintain the scriptural view of the Person of Christ, The Gospel Message, and the Triune Godhead within the body of Christ. Once we deviate, change, add to, take away, water down, delete, we are then compromising and we open up the ways for demonic influence which leads man away from God.

We read in 1 John…

1 John Chapter 4: 1-4  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Here John is telling us, no commanding us that we test the spirits to see if they are from God or from the enemy. We do this by knowing, understanding and leveraging God’s Word.

The simple test of confessing that Jesus Christ, God in the Flesh, came to the world and  lived as one of us, died for our sins and rose on the third day.  This is the test of truth.

If a religion, belief or religious idea does not say that Jesus Christ is all of the above; they are a false religion and are evil spirits working to corrupt the body of Christ and steal away the non-believer.

False religions painted to be made to look like Christianity are the most dangerous. A religion of works, which seems to be the most famous route that the enemy takes cause people to reject the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. They fail to understand that it is a free gift and God’s Grace given to us. People believe that they have to work their way into heaven for whatever reason. They do not understand God’s grace nor, once they are entrapped, do not want to understand or feel that they need God’s Grace. Basically pride and rebellion have set in which hardens the heart against God.

Many in the faith refer to this mindset as “The Church of Cain.” The reason is that Cain, knowing full well how to property offer up sacrifices to God, rejected the idea and instead of offering up a blood sacrifice, he offered up things he picked up off the ground.

We read In Genesis 4 …

Genesis 4: 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

See, Cain didn’t even offer God his first fruits; instead he gave God the pickings that have already fallen from the branch, the stuff that was left on the ground.

Needless to say, God rejected it immediately and gave favor to Able. Cain was influenced by demons to override what God said in how man is to offer sacrifice and instead “leaned on his own understanding” and gave God the left overs of the field.

Again, pride and rebellion at work…” I will worship God how “I” want to worship Him.”

This is where false religion is born from and it is the clear work of demons influencing man to take these rebellious stands.

Demon’s Work Through The Natural Via God’s Sovereign Will

Believe it or not, Demons need God’s permission to cause physical and emotional harm to the Christian, but I cannot find evidence that they need that same permission for the non-believer.

Demons are NOT able to possess a person if they have not been invited in.

Man MUST invite or open the door to the demon, thus allowing them access to their selves and their bodies.

As I mentioned before, a Christian cannot be possessed because the Holy Spirit inhabits the person. Good and evil cannot occupy the same space at the same time.

We know from reading about Job how demons were allowed to torment him physically and mentally. He was stricken with sore boils, which he used a potshard to scrape the puss filled boils. The very thought of that is disgusting and the work of demons.

They are able to afflict man with dumbness – can’t speak, blindness, seizures, convulsions, suicidal tendencies, and injuring one’s self.

They are able to exert extreme mental torment via guilt, sorrow, covertness,  depression, anger, never being content / greed, anguish, all the negative emotions that man can experience.

The main purpose and utter desire of demons is to destroy man in whatever way possible.

They are here to steal, kill and destroy and they take extreme pleasure in doing just that.

In this I showed how demons can attack the believer. BUT I show also how the unbeliever is truly in danger. This is why it is so critical that we share the gospel with those we know and care about. Not only are we helping them on their journey to eternal life with the father, we are also helping them be protected against the demons who seek to kill and destroy.

Scripture says…

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

So when we share the gospel with someone who does not know the Lord, we are literally giving them the spiritual weapons needed to fight against the principalities, against powers in this world.

Friends, the battle is real and the battle is seeping over into the physical. We need to dawn the armor of God and be realistic in using it. If we do not wear it daily and practice the fight, we will be nothing but fodder for the enemy when that evil day does come. We have to do all, and having done so…Then Stand.

This is the age of The Servant Warrior, and the battle is on our doorstep.
