Bugging In – Preparing For Riots and Social Mayhem – Do it NOW

By Ray Gano

Listen folks, I am not some prophet or anything like that. It is my hope that nothing will happen.

What I am looking at is past history and also current actions by the evil socialist / communist left that are hell bent on stealing our country away from us.

Like it or not, odds are good that we could see major trouble on our shores.

What I want to discuss are the following…

1 – Gear Up To Protect The Home & Family

2 – Gear Up Your Home

Gearing Up To Protect The Home and Family

I do not advocate offensive violence, but I do believe in protecting one’s family, the innocent and in maintaining a defensive posture.

Scripture says…

1 Timothy 5:8  But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Luke 22:36  Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Like it or not, now more than in the last 100 years we are living in a time where we may see war on our own shores. We may see some form of civil war, due to the racial hate, religious hate or between liberal or conservative ideals.

Believe it or not, our nation is ripe for revolution. The ANTIFA riots that are popping up all over the US is proof positive of this.

My hope that it is a revolution at the ballot box and not one being fought on a battle field.

Police Grade Pepper Gelhome-defense-pepper-spray

As bad as this sounds, people need to be prepared to defend.

First thing that I have to help defend my home is a few 16oz cans of pepper spray / gel. SABRE Red Pepper Gel is probably the best when it comes to this sort of application.

See, you do not want the liquid spray because you need this to shoot pretty far. The foam that I normally recommend also has a few issues. This is why I am recommending SABRE Red Pepper Gel.

In using gel it virtually eliminates wind blow-back with no airborne particles – only affects the target/person it directly contacts! SABRE gel provides distance from your threat with a thirty (30) foot range.

Having several of these positioned in strategic spots so that you can get to it quickly is a solid home defense without using deadly force.

Gear Ready To Go – Cross Draw Tactical Vest

Condor-Tactical-VestI know that this sounds really “John Wayne” / Mall Ninja, but it is better to be prepared with gear ready to go than not.

Condor is a company that puts out some pretty good gear. It isn’t totally military grade, but it is pretty good gear for the price.

First thing that I recommend is getting a Cross Draw Tactical Vest.

This is the vest that I have on hand and it has served me really well.

The many pockets allow for multiple weapons, communications or supplies that I will need.

For example, carrying pepper gel, a stun gun, some protein bars for an energy boost along with other items that you might need. There are several large pockets that can hold your cell phone or walkie talkie.

I also REALLY like the fact that I can put my camel back water bladder in the back and will help me stay hydrated.

Again this is not military grade, but for civilian use and being prepared it is an excellent vest.

The added belt with two mag pouches are good to keep pepper spray, stun gun or even another tactical folding knife like the Cold Steel Voyager Clip Point XL.

MOLLE strips on the back also allow you to clip on dump bag to hold spent magazines as well as a small pack of sorts that might carry a day’s rations and a first aid pack.

Allen Company makes a great pouch that will secure to the back of the vest and it can hold a good amount of necessary items.

Freetoo-glovesThis or even two of these pouches on the back of the vest will help you keep needed gear without weighing you down.

Another item that one has to strongly think about is a good pair of gloves. I have written about gloves in the past and so many people do not understand how a good pair of tough gloves can really help save your hands.

Mechanic’s makes some great gloves, but a good pair of motorcycle gloves that are made to take the road rash is something that will stand up.

Freetoo Full Finger Cycling Motorcycle Gloves are some of the best out there. They are comfortable, but also take a beating. This is something that you will need to consider if you are being placed in a tactical situation where you need to get down on the ground and really rough up your hands.

Gearing Yourself Up With Covert Body Armor

kevlar-hoodieIt seems that the Muslim terrorists weapon of choice seems to be the IED, the improvised explosive device.

This past weekend the bomb that exploded in Chelsea injured twenty-nine people when the device exploded around 8:30 Saturday night. One person was seriously hurt.

Bombs damage in several ways, first there is the explosion that causes a shock wave. The waves travel outward at about 1,600 feet per second (488 meters per second) over hundreds of yards or more depending upon the amount of explosive.

It is this shock wave that hits the body with massive force. The body, particularly the brain is jolted so hard that the body can not withstand the sudden shock and the person dies due to a massive concussion.

Sometimes the shock wave can push a person back and they are thrown into walls and other structures around where the device explodes.

The explosion fragments the container and sends pieces of shrapnel at high speeds outward. If the IED also contained other fragments such as ball bearings, nuts, bolts and pellets, then they also would be thrown outward.

The heat from the explosion can causes fire. These fires in turn can cause secondary fires in the general area.

Finally, the blast wave leaves a partial vacuum, which causes air to rush back in under high pressure. The in-rushing air also pulls in debris and shrapnel.

So how do we protect ourselves?

We need to start taking precautions. As much as I hate to say this and it is painting with a broad brush but if you have Muslims in your area that seem to sympathize with ISIS, CARE, PLO then there might be a risk.

Something that you may consider is start wearing a covert form of body armor. With today’s technology there is level 2 and level 3 Kevlar motorcycle clothing that will help protect against a lot of the dangers that motorcycle riders have to avoid.

Here is what one rider had to say about the Kevlar pants he was wearing…

kevlar-cammo-pants“After a 35mph crash into rocks, I can attest to the strength of the Kevlar. The foot peg caught on inner thigh, tore thru the denim and just left a deep bruise on my inner thigh. With after market pegs using replaceable studs I can assure you without Kevlar it may have been a life threatening result.”

In other words, the Kevlar stopped the foot peg from going though the pants and into his leg all while doing 35 MPH. Note that he did not have any rock or debris penetrating the skin either.

Many Police wear the same clothing to help protect them as well against knife attacks, being cut and other dangers that they face on the street.

I am showing this sort of example because if you are in the area of an IED, this sort of clothing might protect you from any shrapnel or flying debris from the explosion.

Is this perfect and is this what this clothing was made for?

NO… not at all, BUT I would be willing to wear cloths like this and if I am in some sort of situation, odds are that the Kevlar panels that are part of this type of clothing “might” stop shrapnel and debris.

I want to state again that this sort of clothing is also cut resistant and many police wear this sort of clothing to stop knife attacks.

Just think, if some of the people who were in the St Cloud Shopping Mall were wearing some sort of Kevlar clothing; would they have sustained the sort of knife wounds that they received from the terrorist?

kevlar-sleevesI have a pair of Kevlar sleeves that I wear when I am conducting special security tasks. I have personally tested them out to see if they are in fact they cut and puncture resistant and I was impressed, they do what they say they do.

The great thing about Kevlar is that it is also heat / fire resistant. Maybe you have seen waitresses wearing these sort of Kevlar sleeves in dinners. Particularly where they stack 4-5 plates of food on one arm. Those sleeves they are wearing are the same type that many police ear to help guard against knife attacks.

These also will help protect against fragments and debris if you are in the vicinity of an IED.

Here is a list of clothing and such that I have conducted research on…

Gearing Up With Firearms

Luke 11:21  When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:

Psalms 144:1 Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.

When dealing with a home defense / close quarter combat, my “go to” handguns are the Glock 19, and second I recommend the Glock 17

Yep, both 9mm Glocks.

I am a huge fan of the Glock for many reasons.

First of all, they are pretty much indestructible. There are a number of video on You Tube showing the Glock being dropped from a plane, a barn roof, frozen in ice for a year, buried in the dirt for a year, rolled over by a car, a truck and a semi.

Here is a great video where they fired 40 – 30 round magazines until there was a malfunction. In other words, they worked to literally melt the gun.  1272 rounds later there was a malfunction but after they pulled the gun apart, it was found that there was some polymer still in the gun from the melted polymer guide rod; which they knew would give out and had a metal guide rod ready to replace.

The heat also became so great that the trigger started to melt. But the shooter stated that had he known, he would have used a work around to continue to fire the Glock.

What the shooter performing the test concluded that you would not have been able to carry enough rounds on your person and shoot the Glock so much to cause it to malfunction in this manner.

In other words, the Glock is a great weapon to use even in adverse conditions that this shooter put the Glock through.

You can watch the entire video here – https://youtu.be/ub4OswUhLwo

Another point that I like about the Glock family of 9mm is that you can cannibalize parts from one Glock to another. That is if you are staying within the same generation. Now Gen 1 thru Gen 3 pretty much used the same parts and a lot of them are interchangeable. It is the Gen 4 where Glock started to make changes. But even then there are still parts that are interchangeable.

Probably the main reason I like Glocks is that I have a lot of lead going down range. A Glock 19 magazine holds 15 rounds, a Glock 17 which is the largest in the Glock 9mm family holds 17 in the magazine. You can also interchange the larger magazines in the smaller guns.

Example, you can use the Glock 17 mag in the Glock 26 and Glock 19.

A great modification that a lot of Glock shooters have been adding to their Glocks for the past several years is adding a “Modular Optics System” on the Glock. What this does is allow for quicker acquirement of the target and you don’t have to have one eye closed to aim and shoot.

Glock-MOS

This set up is great for the Glock 17 and the Glock 19. This has become so popular that now Glock manufacturing is offering a modified upper receiver so that you can put your favorite optic on your Glock.

BUT.. if this is the direction that you are wanting to go, be prepared to get a good red dot optic like the those that Trijicon offers.

Trijicon is military grade optics and it is something that I would spend the money for. I have shot a friend of mine’s Glock 19 that has a Trijicon MOS on his and I have to say that my acquiring of the target was a lot faster and once you get used to it, you shoot with both eyes open.

This is a critical asset to have on your Glock and it could mean shaving milliseconds off your target acquisition. Those milliseconds might also be what you need to save you and your families life.

The Glock 19 & 17 have a lower rail so that you can put a laser site to flashlight or both.

Streamlight’s TLR-1 Rail-Mounted Tactical Light is already equipped to be fitted to any Glock that has a lower rail.

Here is my Glock 19 with a TLR-1 flashlight.

Ray-Glock19-TLR1

This flashlight has both left and right buttons so that you can easily turn the light on and off. The TLR-1 is police / military grade and will stand up to the abuse. It will also light up any area that you need and the light is bright enough that it can temporarily blind an intruder and give you valuable seconds to take action.

No Gun? Go Sword – Picking The Right Sword For Your Home Defense

ray-mushashi-review

There are a lot of factors that you need to consider when picking a proper sword for home defense.

First think of your physical abilities.

Are you active?

Do you play any sports like tennis, golf, baseball, etc?

Do you have any physical limitations that prevent you from fully or partially swinging a sword?

One handed sword or two handed sword?

For example, over the years of being in the military, working security, practicing martial arts my right shoulder is not what it used to be. I can swing a sword easily one handed, but I personally would feel more comfortable using a two handed sword so that I can get even more power and strength behind the weapon.

This is one the main reasons that I gravitate to more of a samurai sword / two handed type of weapon.

I also like a two handed Katana (samurai sword) because it really does not take much training to use this in a home defense manner. Again, if you can swing bat., racket or golf club, you have the basic moves to use a Katana (samurai sword).

There are many good swords out there that run around $125 that would be very dependable in a home defense situation.

What you DO NOT want to do is get some cheap katana. The reason is that most $50 and below katana that advertised as “Sharp” also do not have a “full tang” or thicker piece of metal in the handle that will help strengthen the sword.

Instead they have what is called a “rat tail” tang.

cheap-samurai-swords

The problem with these is that they are often welded at the hilt or hand guard. If you need to swing this type of sword, the act of swinging it with full force will often snap that weld and your blade will go flying off. It will also snap on the very first blow at full force if you hit something or someone.

No matter what, when it snaps off, you no longer have a weapon to defend your home.

SO one of the first things you need to look for, is the sword “full tang.”

full-tang-katana

As you can see in this picture the tang, or the metal that slides up into the handle is pretty thick and wide. This will give your sword strength when you swing it and also come in contact with a target.

The type of steel is also something that you want to watch out for. A lot of cheap swords are made of 1040 steel. This is great for hacking bushes and such, but 1040 will not hold an edge and in fact it is pretty hard to get a really good razor edge on cheap steel like this.

My recommendation is that you look for steel that is at least 1060, which many swords out there are made from

If you can get a 1060 DH or deferentially hardened that is even better. What DH or deferentially hardened means that the blade’s edge is hardened more than the spine of the sword. The DH edge will hold a sharpened edge much better and you can actually get a literal razor’s edge with a 1060 DH sword.

How they achieve this is the sword maker will put liquid clay on the edge of the sword, this will help keep the edge hotter for a millisecond when the sword is quenched in water or oil to cool the sword down. Because the spine of the sword is exposed, that metal will be softer, where the edge that has the clay will remain hotter, thus making the edge’s steel harder. This hardened steel edge will hold the razor sharpness while the softer spine gives the sword some flexibility.

You can often tell a deferentially hardened sword when you see what is often referred to as a “hamon.”

differentially-hardened

1060 high carbon steel blade with clay the temper process, hamon and hardness created by applying liquid clay during the final forging process.

Note the line in the steel, this is where the clay was painted on the blades edge and when put in the water; “stained” the steel to give the wavy line appearance.

One thing you want to look out for is what is called a “brushed hamon.”  This is a sign of a cheaper sword. This is made by using a steel brush on the sword’s edge to give it a “hamon” look as you can see in the image below.

When buying a sword you look to see if the hamon is made with the clay tempering process or is it brushed on like you see above.

If the sword description DOES NOT talk about the clay tempering process, then be leery. Sometimes it is mentioned and sometimes it is not. Looking at pictures of the blade, you can often tell the brushed look verses the clay tempered blade.

brushed-hamonA company that I really like and recommend is a company called Musashi. They have a 1060 DH series of swords that for the price, are really great. In fact, I own two of them, both are the “eternity wheel” style.

Musashi’s 1060DH Shirakawa series are basically the same sword but with different hardware, meaning that the hand guard and the pommel cap have different styles.

Mine is called the “eternity wheel.” Other styles are The Bamboo Warrior, Crane or Musashi. There are about 20 sword styles in this series. All are basically the hand forged, hand sharpened 1060 deferentially hardened sword.

musashi_differentially_hardened_samurai_swordA couple of years ago I produced a video Here is a video review of my Musashi 1060 Clay DH hardened katana. I wanted to share my first cuts with this Katana. This is a great starter / first live katana that one can own. This sword is the “Eternity Wheel” sword and is from Musashi Swords “Shirakawa” series. This is the same series that the very popular “Bamboo Warrior” katana also comes from.

For $120.00 with Amazon Prime free shipping you can get the same sword that I have and that I love. I have a number of swords and this is my “go to” sword. This is why I now have two of them because I use my first sword and I want to have a backup just in case finally end up destroying it due to all the cutting and practice that I do.

Musashi – 1060 Carbon Steel – Clay Tempered Samurai Sword *SHARP* – http://tinyurl.com/PZ-Musashi-Clay-Temprd-Katana

Now another sword that I am very impressed with is Dark Sentinel Sword by Paul Chen / CAS Hanwei.

I really like this sword because it is a “hi-Bred” sort of sword that was designed by Paul Chen, a very well-known sword smith and sword designer.

This sword combines the slashing power of the Samurai Katana and characteristics of European dueling swords make it lite and agile enough that you can use this sword with one handed, but can easily go to two handed.

This sword is made with 1566 high carbon steel. This is the same sort of steel that saw blades are made of. So this sword maintains and holds an edge and because of the steel’s strength it is not as thick as a standard Katana.

One of the reasons I got this sword is because this is a sword that my wife can also use and use effectively.

dark-sentina

It is very easy to swing and hold on to due to the leather wrapped and studded handled. The handle is not large and my wife can easily hold it without it falling out of her hands.

When I purchased this sword a few years ago, Amazon did not carry it , but I am glad to see that Amazon is now carrying this great sword.

Gearing Up Your Home

I am one who believes that one should try to make their home as invasion proof as possible. This is why I am big on early warning and trying to prevent entry.

I have talked about this product before in other article, it is one of the best door jammers you can get on the market.

The Buddy Door Jammer, I own one of these myself and I can attest to the strength that this has. Using this properly will make your door almost impenetrable. The person/s will have to destroy your door to get in.

window-filmThe next thing that I have talked about in the past is   8 Mil Window Film.

This is a GREAT product and could possibly save your life. I have done studies on this and if you apply it to both sides of the window, it will prevent bricks, large rocks and in some cases even a single shotgun blast using bird shot or small game shot and even a 22 bullet.

Now I would not stand in front of the window to test it, but in some of the case studies I have seen, this stuff is worth the money. People will not come in by breaking your window, that is a guarantee.

Early Warning Alarm Systems

Where we live I have implemented several security systems.

First, I have the Voice Alert System-6 Home/driveway Alarm system. I learned about this from a friend of mine when I heard his announcing that someone was at the side of the house, and then it announced that someone was by the tool shed. Come to find out it was just his dog and he forgot to turn set the alarm to daytime.

After doing a bunch of research on pricing and features and such, I had to agree that this was a great system to give us early warning.

voice-alert

Here is what it says about the system on Amazon.

Would you like to be alerted when…

  • Cars are coming up the driveway
  • Children go inside your tool shed
  • Intruders approach the front or backyard
  • Someone enters your garage
  • Visitors are walking to the front door
  • Your parked boat or motor home has been boarded
  • Kids or pets are trampling your flowers …then you need the Voice Alert System-6.

System-6 allows a maximum of six user recorded messages. Each message is specific to one zone. For instance, zone one could be for a driveway alarm -“Car coming up the driveway” while zone two could be for a sensor monitoring the back yard- “Alert! Child by the pool!” Perhaps a third sensor guards a side entrance against intruders. However, when this PIR detects movement, the base unit plays “Intruder on patio” and triggers a floodlight using one of four relays included on the base unit.

System-6 can monitor all three zones simultaneously and still have three additional zones available when needed. Users can alter their messages and place the wireless sensors wherever they wish.

Voice Alert System-6 sets up in minutes and can be completely customized to fit their individual needs.

The wireless PIRs feature: all weather protection, adjustable mounting and sensitivity, and can send a signal 300 feet through walls and up to 1000 feet in open space.

This is not some cheap system either. The starter unit and one sensor is about $125.00. Each senor costs about $50.00 per and they are weather proof. I have multiple sensors all over our perimeter giving us early warning of anyone entering our yard. But they are the best out there for the dollar when it comes to home security systems that you can install.

Conclusion

I know that what I am saying here is rather disturbing. But I feel that it needs to be said. Our nation is possibly headed to a very bad place in this time in history.

I pray to God that what I am saying does not come to fruition, but the way the current administration is pushing our nation to a civil war / civil disturbance, it is not helping the matter and in fact adding gasoline to the fire that is already burning.

Charles G. Finney stated something very profound that may explain what and why things are happening today.

Here is what he said…

“Worldly desires, appetites, and feelings prevent true Christianity — the human will is, in a sense, enslaved by fleshly and worldly desires. It is therefore necessary for God to awaken people to a sense of guilt and danger and thus produce an opposite excitement or feeling and desire. This counter-feeling breaks the power of worldly desire and leaves the will free to obey God.”

Our nation desperately needs God, but we have been living a slew of lies thinking that we are serving God, when in reality we are serving ourselves.

John MacArthur wrote an outstanding article titled “When God Abandons A Nation.”

If you wish to read it online, you can read it here – http://raygano.com/when-god-abandons-a-nation/

In this article he talks about 5 dominate lies we as Christians and a culture have accepted in these last days.

Lie #1 – Life is random…life is random. We’re all products of evolutionary chance, no purpose, no creator, no accountability.

Lie #2 – Truth is relative. No absolutes, no standard, you just kind of have to flow around public opinion but you can change public opinion, as we well know.

Lie #3 – People are basically good, oh if they go bad, somebody abused them. Somebody else is to blame, they lack self-esteem, they have psychological problems based on environmental failures.

Lie #4 – Thanks to Rick Warren and Joel Osteen, everyone can change his own life, get control, take charge, become the person you want to be. You have the power to be whatever you want to be.

Lie #5 – The goal of life is self-satisfaction. You’re really after feeling good about yourself, being satisfied with who you are. You hear people say, “This is who I am, take it or leave it and I’m happy who I am. This is me and I’m just out there.”

Because we have bought into these lies is why Finney’s statement is so profound to me.

“It is therefore necessary for God to awaken people to a sense of guilt and danger and thus produce an opposite excitement or feeling and desire. This counter-feeling breaks the power of worldly desire and leaves the will free to obey God.”

Bible prophecy or not, this is where we are today in US History.

We have forgotten God and He will do what He deems necessary to wake us back up to the truth. If it means guilt and danger, then He will do it.

The thing that we who are a wake and have been watching need to do is to prepare so that we can make it through that storm and make it to the other side so that we can be ready to serve and help our fellow man. It will be at that time that man will be ready to hear the good news of the gospel, and we need to make sure that we will be there so that we can share it.

We have a $600+ shortfall every month. I HATE coming to the readers every month asking to help.

You love what we are doing. We get emails from many of you every week.

We are working like mad to fill these holes, but it is slow going. Tracye and I are developing a “tent building” business, but we need help with some breathing room.

All we are asking is for one year….

Will You Stand With Us For Just One Year?

We need 6 people willing to stand with us at $100 a month.

OR

12 people willing to stand with us at $50 a month.

OR

24 people willing to stand with us at $25 a month.

Folks, just one year.

We have been reviewing our business plan to reinvigorate PZ, Servant Warrior and introduce our life coach business. We have been getting great mentoring support from several individuals and all of us are very confident in our business plans that we have been working on.

We know that we will do well, we just need one year of breathing room to accomplish this.
