I have been getting a LOT of emails from both men and women dealing with demons of lust.
In general people have personal demons because of the garbage they have allowed in their life. Where there is garbage, there are rats.
Your sin is the garbage and the rats are the demons.
You want to live a fulfilled life, stop trashing out your life with sin (garbage) and the rats (demons) will weaken and go away.
Dealing With The Demon of LUST
LUST is a class of demons that has probably been more responsible in bringing down more modern day ministries than all of the other demon class spirits combined, especially with men.
Interesting fact is that more and more women are being attacked by LUST like never before in these last days of the last days.
This demon class is also responsible for all of the different kinds of hedonistic perversions we see in our nation (and world) today.
Here is a basic list of some of these kinds of demons:
Lust
Fornication
Adultery
Pornography
Transvestism
Transsexuality
Prostitution
There are other spirits that can be added to the list, but these general traits give you a good idea of the types of spirits we are dealing with.
The demon of lust has one goal that is sexual arousal where the ultimate aim is for some kind of sexual gratification / release.
We know that God created us with the ability to have sexual thoughts and feelings, this is natural. But this gift was only meant to be used and shared within the confines of biblical holy marriage, one man & one woman, not the aberrant activities that man deemed allowable today.
Demons know we have this incredible gift from the Lord, so they will do everything they can to try and use our gift of intimacy and pervert it into selfish self-gratification. Where sexual intimacy is there to be given in love, the enemy uses it sexually gratify the self.
Just think how many marriages, ministries, and personal lives have been totally destroyed and brought down as a result of people following after the different kinds of spirits of lust.
Remember the strongest man who ever lived, Samson? He was completely brought down as a result of lusting after the wrong kind of woman.
And to this very day, many people still have not learned from the past and how deadly this kind of spirit can be.
Why is The Demon Class of LUST So Difficult To Battle?
Luke Gilkerson of Covenant Eyes’ has given a very rubber meets the road description of what happens in a man’s body when it encounters illicit sex, porn, lust.
“As a man goes through his day, testosterone levels begin to increase as he stares at women or fantasizes about them, creating a desire for sexual release. Meanwhile, norepinephrine is being released, making his brain more and more alert and ready for action. Serotonin is also released, creating a sense of excitement about his sexual “payoff.” In addition, dopamine is focusing the mind, telling the brain, “You have to go back to the porn. That’s where the reliable payoff is.” Then the man seeks out porn and masturbates, releasing endogenous opiates in the brain, giving him a rush of euphoria. In addition, oxytocin and vasopressin are released, binding him to the images he sees.” (1)
As you can see there are a lot of chemicals flowing around in the body when one is sexually stimulated and the release of these bodily chemicals becomes addictive in and of itself.
It is how God created us so that we would “bond” and literally be “addicted” to our husband or wife.
The problem today is that there are so many places, means and ways to seek sexual gratification that is socially approved of, the dopamine in our brain locks in on those “guaranteed” sources.
Therefore, both men and women are homing in on those “guaranteed” sources and it becomes a vicious circle of dopamine addiction and seeking out the next sexual gratification.
Now, where the demons comes in is that they are totally attracted to illicit sex because they understand the chemical gift that God gave us and they leverage it.
When one is acting upon a form of illicit self-gratification one could inadvertently summon a sex demon to attach itself to you through the sexual act.
Once that demon attaches, it is difficult to get it to leave. It will drive the person to continue to seek out that next orgasm no matter how it is attained, EVEN when you don’t want to.
It is a fact that out of nowhere you will be hit with sexual urges so powerful that only an orgasm will allow you some temporary relief.
This is why battling a sexual demon of LUST is so difficult in both men and women. They are using God’s gift to bless the marriage bed, and perverting it and turning it against us.
NOW… we can not go around and say “it isn’t my fault, the devil made me do it.”
Demons do not create the sin, the sin originates with us. That lust desire first propagates within our own being first. It is the demons who leverages it and feeds upon it.
As Christians we are not “slaves” to sin any longer. We have the power through Christ Jesus to rebuke and resist the sin, that is if we want to.
What happens often is that the flesh is weak and we succumb to the temptation.
How Do We Battle The Demon of LUST?
Scripture tells us…
1 Peter 1:16 because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
This is a hard thing to do, but if we submit to God’s help and direction, we can slowly, over time grow more and more like Him and less like the world.
What we learn is how to use our spiritual muscles and start to recognize the attacks of the enemy. When we see those attacks, we act and resist the temptations of the enemy.
If we resist, the demons will flee.
When we do this, we start walking what I call the “Servant Warrior” path forsaking all, picking up your cross and following Him.
I know that many try and fail. Failure is how we learn. We fall, we repent, we get back up and continue moving forward. The key is what we do after we fall/ fail? It is that action that will either strengthen the metal with which you are made of, or weaken it.
When we live in sexual sin, or any sin for that matter, we are living in a horrible oppressive state. We try to mask and ignore that that feeling by turning to even more sinful ways.
Sure we may have some peace and relief, but just for a moment, that is till we seek out that peace and relief again. The demons within us feed upon our sexual desires more and more like rats feeding upon garbage. They push us and seek for us to defile ourselves in more hedonistic ways so that they can feed off of our illicit sexual desires. We don’t realize it but we are chasing the “high” that sex offers. Eventually we will wake up to the fact that we are truly trapped.
So how do we break free and battle the demons of LUST?
Scripture says…
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
See, until you make that true commitment to serving Christ, one will continue to live that life of ups and downs constantly being rocked to and fro.
Scripture tells us very clearly…
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
It is the exercising of our spiritual muscles that help us learn to fight the enemy.
Here is a personal example. In the morning while I am waking up is when the enemy likes to attack me. I am somewhat asleep and the enemy starts feeding me wrong ideas, thoughts and dreams. If I do nothing, I have improper thoughts and my day does not start off in a proper Godly way.
This is MY reminder that goes through my head in the morning when the enemy is beginning the attacks in the wee hours of the morning.
“Be holy for I am holy. Take on the whole armour of God so that I can withstand the evil, and having done all, stand.”
I then verbally say in my barely awake voice –
“ In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke you demon, stop tempting me with these impure thoughts. I bind you and command you to leave me alone. I cast you before the feet of Christ and torment me no more.”
The evil spirit that was feeding me these impure thoughts then disappear and I usually fall back to sleep again and wake up in the morning unmolested by the enemy.
See, I have been operating in this manner for a very long time. It is now habit with me, even when I am half asleep. But I did not start out that way, in the begining it was hard because I did not recognize the attacks till it was to late.
The key is recognizing the act of potentially sinning via demonic influence and act exercising those spiritual muscles by rebuking, binding, casting the demon at the feet of Christ.
If you do this over and over again, after a while this battle tactic becomes habbit. What happens is that the enemy realizes that you are resisting constantly and enemy does not try to attack you in this area of your life. It will flee just as scripture states.
Sure, they will try here and there, trying to bring you down. But you must continue to be on guard. The key is consistancy.
In Peter we read…
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Conclusion
The key to fighting the demon of LUST as well as any demon for that matter is to be aware of what is going on and recognize the attacks.
Be ready for the attack and know what you are going to do during the attack. Have your prayer memorized so that you can take action right away.

“ In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke you demon, stop tempting me with these impure thoughts. I bind you and command you to leave me alone. I cast you before the feet of Christ and torment me no more.”
Once you recognize the attacks then take action by rebuking the enemy, commanding it to leave you alone, come out of you and then command it / cast it at the feet of Jesus and let Him who has all authority deal with the demon.
It is a simple formula. But you have to take action and not be complacent.
