Sometimes being a watchman is not a fun job to have. We see and hear things that you may not notice or catch.
That is where we have to step in and warn the people of what’s coming whether they like it or not. In today’s society, many are laughing us to scorn as they spread lies and deceit about us.
But that doesn’t change our message. God has given us a very specific calling. We are called to warn the people. Period. If you don’t want to listen, that’s fine. It’s up to you. Look what God said:
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. (Ezekiel 33:6.8-9 KJV)
That being said, there is a trend going around right now on preparedness. Most people will not listen to this message. Even though all you have to do is take your head out of the sand long enough and you will see what is going on in the world.
I will take nothing away from that message. We need to be ready with food and water, weapons, and whatever else we need to be safe and healthy.
But as a watchman, we not only have to look at the physical needs, we also have to look at the spiritual needs.
Let me ask you one question. Are we preparing our souls for eternity?
Churches have done a great job in deceiving the masses. You will hear things like the economy is not going to crash. God is going to take care of it. It’s business as usual. You try and be a good person and you will go to heaven. The whole concept of hell is just to scare you into being good.
For years we have listened to this nonsense. We don’t read our bible therefore we don’t know the truth. In fact there are so many false versions of the bible out there we don’t know what truth is.
We honestly believe that if we are good people we will be okay and on our way to heaven.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this but your good works that you think you do will not get you to heaven.
Don’t believe me? Look at what Jesus said in Matthew Chapter 7.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23 KJV)
Do we think that God changed his mind about all this? He has not. Malachi 3:6a says: For I am the Lord, I change not.
We are preparing ourselves for Hell because we fail to believe that what God said in his word is true.
What we believe doesn’t matter. There could be a raging storm outside but if I don’t believe it, it’s not happening, right? How devastated would I be if I went outside and found out that a tornado destroyed the city? My belief in the storm not raging didn’t change things did it?
Revelation 20:15 reminds us: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Is your name in that book? Your good works are not going to save you. You may be prepared to withstand the coming economic storm but without Jesus, you will die in your sins and go to hell.
It doesn’t matter if you believe it or not. You can laugh and scoff. That’s fine. It doesn’t change anything.
But for the time being, there is still a way out.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20 KJV)
There is still time. Jesus is still knocking. Will you open the door and let him come in?
I can’t force you to do it. But know this. Every day that you put it off is one day closer to burning in hell for all eternity.
I have done my job in warning you of what is to come. If your name is not written in the book of life, you will be cast into the lake of fire. It doesn’t matter if you believe it or not.
Take a minute, right now to prepare your soul.
What are you going to do with Jesus in the time you have left?
